Lam LEGO Naming Contest Rules
No purchase necessary to enter or win. 

Contest open to Lam Research employees and/or individuals who follow Lam Research on social media (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter). Lam Research Social Media Steering Committee members may not participate in the naming contest.

1. TO ENTER: Entries will be accepted between 2/2/2017 at 4pm PT and 2/17/2017 at 5pm PT.

You must submit contact information to receive a Lam LEGO. 

2. CONDITIONS:  Entries will be void if they are incomplete or late. By entering, entrants acknowledge compliance with these official rules including all eligibility requirements. 

3. ELIGIBILITY:  The contest is open to all employees of Lam Research and all Lam Research social media followers (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter), except for members of the Lam Research Social Media Steering Committee. A minor (for these purposes, a person under 18 years of age) submitting an entry must obtain his/her parent/legal guardian’s permission and include his/her parent/legal guardian’s name and daytime telephone number on the official entry form. If a prize is won by a minor, the prize shall be awarded to the minor’s parent or guardian who must execute the required documentation on the minor’s behalf.

Any entrant whose participation in this contest is prohibited or restricted by law shall be disqualified. Lam Research reserves the right to verify eligibility qualifications of the winner. 

4. CONTEST GUIDELINES:
Participants may submit one, and only one, appropriate name submission for Lam LEGO. Names may be submitted by commenting on Lam’s sponsored social media posts on Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter.

In the event of multiple entries of the same name, the earliest entry will be considered.

Entries must be appropriate in nature, contain no foul language, and contain no negative or defamatory language regarding Lam Research, its customers, suppliers, products, services or employees. Inappropriate submissions will be deleted.

Entries cannot defame or invade the rights or privacy of any person, living or deceased, or otherwise infringe upon any third party personal or proprietary rights. 

Entries cannot use or copy existing intellectual property. 

Entry must be in keeping with Lam’s image and may not be offensive, as determined by judges in their sole discretion. Judging will be conducted under the supervision of Lam Research whose decisions are final and binding on matters relating to this contest. 

Lam Research reserves the right not to award any prizes if it determines that no entry is qualified. Winners will be notified via email.

Taxes, if any, are the sole responsibility of the winners. No transfer or substitution of prizes permitted. Winners agree that Lam, and its agencies and employees shall not be liable for injury, loss or damage of any kind resulting from participation in this promotion or from the acceptance or use of the prizes awarded.

5. PRIZES:
One Lam LEGO will be sent to each Participant that provides a qualifying submission.

One (1) Grand Prize and four (4) Runner-up prizes will also be awarded. The winning submission will receive a smartwatch (up to $400 USD value) and the four runner-ups will receive a $50 USD Amazon gift card each. 

In order to receive any prize, non-Lam employee Participants must provide Lam Research with their contact information, using a survey link. Participants must click the link on the social posts to submit name, contact information, and address to send any prize.

Contact information and addresses will not be saved or used for any other purpose, other than to send Lam LEGOs. You may opt out of providing your address, but you will be ineligible for receiving a LEGO. 


6. JUDGING:  The Lam Research Social Media Steering Committee will select five (5) of the initial entries for electronic voting by Lam employees and/or Lam social media followers. Submitter names will not be shown to the committee members to avoid favoritism. Winning names will be chosen based on: originality (25%), creativity (25%), and appropriateness (50%). In the event of a tie, judges will re-judge based on creativity. Judges will aggregate names and choose top 5 entries by COB 2/22/17. Decisions of judges are final and binding. The final winner will be chosen via electronic voting via a survey from Lam employees and/or social media followers. Electronic voting via survey will begin on 2/23/17, and continue through 2/27/17. The survey will only allow one response per user using a security combination of email address and browser information. The Grand Prize Winner will be announced on Lam’s social media channels on 2/28/17. 

Winning submissions will be decided by votes submitted by Lam Research employees and/or social media followers from 2/23/17 through 2/27/17 from the five names selected by the Social Media Steering Committee. The winning name will be announced on 2/28/17. 


7. LEGAL RIGHTS.  
By submitting an entry in this contest, every Participant unconditionally assigns and transfers to Lam Research all rights, title, interest and claim, which he or she now has or may in the future have to his or her entry (including, without limitation, the submitted name), whether accepted or not, regardless of the form they take. Each Participant grants Lam Research the right to use, publish, exploit and/or modify any entry. Lam Research reserves the right to publish or advertise the name without approval, acknowledgment or compensation unless prohibited by law. 

By entering this contest, Participants consent to the use of their own name, submission, biographical information, photographs and or likenesses for advertising and publicity purposes without additional compensation (except where prohibited by law.)

Lam Research maintains rights for editorial purposes concerning this contest or succeeding contests and for publicity, special events and advertising purposes in connection with promoting Lam Research, its products, its Web site (www.lamresearch.com), its social media channels, and/or this contest or succeeding contests.

This contest is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.  US law governs these contest rules.

7. RELEASE:
 Participants agree to defend, release and hold harmless Lam Research and its agents from and against any claims, action and/or liability for injury, loss or damage of any kind resulting from the Participants participation in this contest (including in connection with the use and/or exploitation of the submitted name) or from the acceptance or use of prize awarded. Neither Lam Research, or affiliates, subsidiaries, divisions, advertising or promotion agencies, or their respective officers, directors, shareholders and employees (collectively “Releases”) nor any telephone network or service providers are responsible for incorrect or inaccurate transcription of entry information, or for any human or other error, technical malfunctions, lost/delayed data transmission, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, line failures of any telephone network, computer equipment, software, inability to access any online service or web site, or any other error or malfunction, or any injury or damage to participant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participation in this Contest, or for any injury to person or property arising from the entrant’s participation in this Contest or for the use or misuse of any prize won. Releases are not responsible for lost, late, illegible or misdirected entries or mail.

8. ADDITIONAL RESTRICTIONS:  
Caution: Any attempt by an entrant or any other individual to deliberately damage any online service or web site, tamper with the judging process, or otherwise undermine the legitimate operation of the Contest is a violation of criminal and civil laws and should such an attempt be made, Lam Research reserves the right to seek damages and/or other remedies from any such person to the fullest extent permitted by law. Failure to enforce any term of these 
Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. If for any reason the Contest is not capable of being executed as planned, or infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, action of entrants, technical failures or any other causes beyond the control of Lam Research, corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Contest, Lam Research reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any suspect entry or entrant and to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the Contest and/or award the prizes from among all eligible, non-suspect entries received as of the date of the termination, as Lam Research determines in its sole discretion. Entries not complying with all rules are subject to disqualification.
